ASA Statement in Response to the Reintroduction of the Unconstitutional Assault Weapons Ban Act of 2025

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, American Suppressor Association (ASA) President and Executive Director Knox Williams, issued a statement in response to U.S. Senator Adam Schiff and his anti-gun colleagues’ reintroduction of the unconstitutional Assault Weapons Ban Act of 2025:

“Senator Schiff and his colleagues are using the so-called assault weapons ban as yet another tired attempt at scoring political points at the expense of law-abiding gun owners. The misnomer ‘assault rifle’ was coined specifically to scare the public and conflate all types of weapons in order to erode Second Amendment rights. We are talking about the most popular firearms in the country; a better term would be ‘America’s Rifle.’ The fact that this bill also attempts to ban firearms with threaded barrels—which would prevent gun owners from protecting their hearing with suppressors—Senate Democrats have shown that their only goal is to pick up another political football and run with it.”
