CALIFORNIA: SUPPRESSOR BILL SCHEDULED FOR HEARING

SACRAMENTO, CA – On Tuesday, April 10, 2018, the California Senate Public Safety Committee will hear Senate Bill 1092, Sen. Joel Anderson’s (R-38) legislation which seeks to legalize the possession and use of suppressors while hunting in California. If enacted, law-abiding Californians will be able to purchase suppressors for use on long guns, but it will remain illegal to use a suppressor on a handgun. Prohibited persons will continue to be barred from purchasing or possessing them. It is a common-sense step that aligns with the 42 states where private suppressor ownership is currently legal, and the 40 states where hunting with a suppressor is allowed.

The American Suppressor Association will be on hand to testify in support of this bill, but we need your help! If you are a California resident, please show your support by using our legislative contact form below to send an email to members of the Committee.
