SPRINGFIELD, IL – Senate Bill 206 has been passed in the Judiciary Committee in a 7-5 vote. It now heads to the full Senate for a floor vote. The Judiciary Hearing was placed on the calendar at 2:11pm, to be held at 4:00pm. ASA staff rushed to Springfield to continue to work the bill and gather support. ASA urges our supporters that live in Illinois to contact their senators and respectfully request them to support and vote YES on the bill. This is happening very quickly and we will provide updates through our social media channels as information becomes available.

I sent a letter to Vt. several years ago to get the bill passed for Vt. Everybody thought that liberal Vermont wouldn’t pass the bill. They were wrong ! Illinois….. surprise us !

Peter – We couldn’t agree more. Citizen action DOES get noticed. People thought the same of Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and yet here we are. It CAN happen – even if it was once just a long shot.

I would really be impressed if it passes! With ccw passed a few yrs ago and if this passes it would bring Illinois out of the stoneage!

    • ASA says:

We need your help now to get it to pass. The bill is on the floor for a vote today. Call your legislators and ask them to vote YES on SB206
