OLYMPIA, WA – On April 25th, Governor Jay Inslee signed HB 1240 into law, making Washington one of the most restrictive states when it comes to guns. This draconian ban on commonly-possessed semi-automatic firearms, both by name and by various cosmetic features, directly attacks the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Washingtonians.
Thankfully the new law, which is undeniably unconstitutional, does not outright ban suppressors. However, it does ban threaded barrels and suppressors on the majority of semi-automatic rifles and pistols.
We will not stand idly by and watch Washington State perpetuate its tyrannical assault on suppressors and the Second Amendment. That is why we are working with our industry and Second Amendment partner organizations to ensure this massive overstep is properly challenged in court. We will provide updates as things progress.
About the American Suppressor Association
The American Suppressor Association (ASA) is the unified voice of the suppressor community. We exist for one reason and one reason only: to fight for pro-suppressor reform nationwide.
The ability of the American Suppressor Association to fight for pro-suppressor reform is tied directly to our ability to fundraise. Since the ASA’s formation in 2011, we have helped 3 states legalize suppressor ownership, 19 states legalize suppressor hunting, and defeated attempts to ban suppressors in 2 states. This would not have happened without your support. Join us in the fight to help protect and expand your right to own and use suppressors by becoming an ASA Member at www.ASAMember.com.
